There are different kinds of diabetes, but in order to differentiate it initially, diabetes can be classified as primary and secondary diabetes.
The primary diabetes is characterized by deterioration that occurs in the pancreas or in the receptors of beta cells in the islets of Langerhans. In turn, is divided into Diabetes Type 1, Diabetes Type 2 and Mody Diabetes.
On the other side, secondary diabetes is produced as a result of development of any other condition that destroys the pancreatic islets and as a result alters the secretion of insulin. For example:
* Chronic Pancreatitis. Alters the beta cells function, decreasing the production of insulin.
* Pancreatic Surgery. When the pancreas is removed and there is no organ that produces insulin.
* Hormonal Tumors, Genetic Disorders.
* Drugs. The steroids, when used for a long time, increase blood glucose levels.
His most common cases of the disease are diabetes Mellitus type 1 and type 2; in which:
* The pancreas does not produce insulin or produces small amounts (type 1)
* The body’s cells do not respond to all the insulin it produces (type 2)
Of these, it appears that there is an unusual presence of insulin (values in the blood may even be normal or high), but this does not realize the correct action.
Diabetes is a disease that is necessary to prevent or control. When a person is diabetic, your body loses, to a greater or lesser extent, its ability to efficiently use the nutrients necessary for the proper functioning of your organs. This does not occur by the lack of consumption of these nutrients, but because of inadequate coordination and insufficient stimulation in their use. That’s why the body begins to weaken and more complications can occur if diabetes is not adequately controlled.
